Electrical Bulks Labor Estimating

Detailed electrical installation estimates from your cable schedules and bulks MTOs—with end connectors, terminations, and all labor operations fully quantified

Engineering gives you wire and cable MTOs based on cable schedules, but rarely provides complete connector and termination details. Most estimators fill the gaps with approximations and factoring based on metrics.

EstiResource quantifies every detail facilitating better project controls.

The Problem with Current Approaches

Electrical bulks estimating presents unique challenges:

  • Engineering MTOs often do not include end connectors and terminations

  • Available estimating software requires specialized skills and expensive licenses

  • Unit labor hour databases exist, but applying them to detailed cable schedules is time-intensive

  • Deviating trends are often detected too late for cost-effective corrections

What EstiResource Delivers

Complete Labor Quantification

  • Detailed estimates including installation of Wire and cable, end connectors and terminations

  • Cable tray and fittings (or composite hours if only tray lengths available)

  • Conduit and fittings installation

  • All other electrical bulks labor operations

  • Hours estimated at IWP level for AWP projects for construction planning and control aligned with control budget

Full Traceability Every labor hour ties back to specific MTO line items. For AWP projects, quantification will be down to cable ID level so hours can be assigned precisely to IWPs.

To verify traceability, open "Example Inputs & Processed Outputs", on the "Output-Labor Detail" tab, filter to any desired MTO_ID and see what labor opertaions pertain to the MTO line item from the MTO input.

What is Needed from You

  • For Control Estimates: Electrical bulks MTO at detail level - not summarized quantities (including cable ID if available)

  • For Early Estimates (FEL2/Class 4+): Detail or summary-level quantities (assumptions will be documented in the basis of estimate)

What You Get

  • Labor operations, Quantities and Cost: Details and summaries from project level down to cable ID level

  • Basis document detailing methodology, assumptions, inclusions, exclusions

  • Analysis reports including Interactive Reports for drilldown insights: with quantities and labor hour metrics

  • Estimate Updates for Changes through Construction Phase: Priced on incremental basis
